March 02, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —— Responding to President Salva Kiir’s “National Day of Prayers” through his social media, Professor Peter Adwok Nyaba, the Former Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, calls on the South Sudanese to not be deceived again by Mr. Kiir.

Instead of a “national day of prayers”, Adwok believes that South Sudan’s crises are “man-made” problems that do not really need prayers but citizens to call on Salva Kiir to stop the war, saying the conflict is attributed to Mr. Kiir and his controversial military.

“Why pray to God instead of asking Salva Kiir to stop the military offensive in all parts of South Sudan.” Dr. Adwok asks.

Dr. Adwok reiterates that Mr. Kiir’s hypocrisy has reached its height as the South Sudan’s leader can no longer hide behind “alternatives facts”.

“What does national day of prayer mean? Does that mean we ask providence to stop the war and the suffering? Isn’t this not the height of cynicism?” Adwok questions.

“Why can’t people march to Salva Kiir and ask him to stop the war? That would be a better option that praying.” Adwok continued.

The former Minister, who resigned from the government and also from the SPLM, reminds his audience that the citizens are suffering all because of Salva Kiir’s war and if Kiir decides to stop the war today, their suffering would end.

“The famine, disease and all the suffering our people are going through are explainable and attributable to war; and war is attributable to president Salva Kiir Mayardit. Therefore, why pray to God instead of asking Salva Kiir to stop the military offensive in all parts of South Sudan.” Adwok continued.

The leader, who seems to be experimenting on what God can and can’t do, released his public statement on the national television saying, he was obligated to call for national day of prayers to submit the nation to God because South Sudanese and their leaders are not perfect.

“My Dear People, as your leader and the Patron for the National Dialogue, I am obliged to release this public statement to inform all our citizens and friends about the planned National Day of Prayers that’s going to be held on March 10th, 2017.” Kiir feels obligated.

“Our time, as people who aspire for common destiny, is now ripe to turn to God and ask Him for forgiveness and blessings. We have not been that prefect and we need to submit ourselves to Almighty through prayers.” Kiir continued

Although Kiir’s administration has been struggling with the Diaspora community, who are taking advantage of freedom of speech in their new countries unlike their counterparts under Mayardit’s leadership back home, Kiir calls on Diaspora to pray with him for peace and reconciliation on this day.

“In the same spirit, we would wish to ask our Diaspora community to pray with us on this day so that we turn over our plight to Almighty God for the better year 2017.” Mr. Kiir said.

Many critics in the past few days have expressed doubts on Kiir’s “national day of prayers” for various reasons.

“if President Kiir’s intention is to pray for peace and harmony, it would make sense; however, is he really for peace in the country? Would a forced National Day of Prayer bring an end the suffering of people in the SS? Instead of calling for people to turn out in “high numbers” to attend National Day of Prayer, why not call for a halt to the military offensives he is launching and diverge oil money to save lives from dangerous famine projected to murder more than half of the population if nothing is done to stop it?” Asks Dr. Gatluak Thach, the President/CEO of Nashville International Center for Empowerment in Nashville, Tennessee, United State.

Despite calling for a national dialogue to “restore peace and unity”, President Salva Kiir’s forces are advancing attacks on rebels’ held areas casting doubts if Kiir really controls his forces and whether or not he meant what he says.

Within this week, the heavily armed loyal forces and allied militias have carried out massive attacks in the rebels’ strongholds in Lou-Nuer areas and other parts of the country.

Although the government lost a huge number of its fighters and weapons after defeats in Motot of Lou-Nuer areas, the army is reorganizing to launch simultaneous attacks for a war that may continue past March 10th.

More than 3 months ago, President Salva Kiir decreed a national dialogue for which he appointed himself as the main patron but at the same time excluded oppositions from participation casting doubts whether the national dialogue would be national.

To most of his opponents, Kiir is only buying time to consolidate power and to continue to rule the war-ragged new nation by all means possible.

Adok has concrete view points. Cease Fire and humanitarian distribution should be priority before the national day of prayer is convinced across the country, so there is no reason to pray while someone is shooting at you and starving you to death. Survival is the priority, not praying of illusion. The south Sudan need a national dialogue across the country and globe, but what transpire now is not the kind of dialogue we wish to see at this time because there is need to cease the hostilities and political settlement through renegotiation of CPA II where all the stakeholders are involved.

President Kiir has the solution, he has no need for prayers, but he is using the same tricks that King Leopold 2 used while killing Africans, and in this case Kiir enjoying the sufferance of his people. Kiir is a killer, and anyone associated to him and not willing to tell the truth is a killer, and need to be seen as such. The problem of South Sudan is not about Nuer, Dinka, or any other tribe but greed.
The National Prayer day as stated has to be about courage for Kiir to face the nation, ask for forgiveness and then tend his resignation, that is solution and end of South Sudanese sufferance. You can know that Kiir is synonymous to Hitler when he talks about new capital city, adherence to East African Economic nonsense but at teh same time recognizes that there is no money for diplomats, famine in his own region. You all can see the priorities of Kiir. In conclusion, it is time for South Sudanese to understand that Kiir has no love nor attachments to you but to himself, and himself alone. His daughter recognizes the sufferance and for sure has in one way or the other conveyed the info to dad, but again, when you are sadistic, you have no heart.
Kiir has no heart for South Sudan therefore, must go away and please don’t pursue him, just ignore, his senses will come back to him and he will end up like Hitler or Saddam Hussein.

Salva Kiir and allies will achieve final peace in South Sudan only if they go for long, brutal war. Only after that can genuine peace be celebrated, who knows by then Dr. Adwok Nyaba and other greedy individuals who have been source of fighting for power and division among South Sudanese since 1991 would be dead.
