Famous Sudanese trader killed by unknown gunmen in Wau

May 6th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – A famous Sudanese trader working in the Western Bahr Al-Ghazal capital Wau was killed last week by a group of an unknown gunmen as he was leaving his shop in Suk Jou at night, sources with knowdelge of the incident told the Nyamilepedia from Wau.

Al-Nur Abakar Idris, who has been working in the Bahr Al-Ghazal town has been working in South Sudan for the last three decades. Before his death on Thursday, he hails from the Sudan’s western region of Darfur.

Authorities in Wau said they are hunting for the perpetratoirs pointing out that the deceased has been a great friend to many government officials and his departure leaves a significant gapin the state since he posseses many shops accros the state.

Sudanese traders announced a one-day break to honor the fallen colleague.

South Sudan descended into civil war in December 2013 after forces loyal to the country’s president, Salva Kiir Mayardiit and his then Governor of Northern Bahr Al-Ghazal State Gen. Paul Malong Awan went foor-to-door in the capital Juba killing civilians belonging to the Nuer ethnic group sparking a nation-wide protests from top army generals from the Nuer leading to a civil war.
