Nov 24, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —– Following a false report by Salva Kiir government that TROIKA has agreed to exclude Dr. Riek Machar Teny, South Sudan’s First Vice President and the leader of the main armed opposition, SPLM/A(IO), from South Sudan peace revitalization forum, several TROIKA members have responded within the last 24 hours denying the assertion as false or incorrect.

Responding to Radio Tamazuj report, the UK Special Representative for Sudan & South Sudan, Amb. Christ Trott, clarified that their position as TROIKA is misunderstood and the report which alleged that TROIKA wants Dr. Machar excluded from South Sudan peace process was false.

Christ Trott went on to affirm that Dr. Machar and other stakeholders must be included in revitalization forum, a tweet that was immediately picked by the U.S Embassy in South Sudan.

According to US Embassy in South Sudan all those that have a stake in South Sudan’s future must be included in the HLRF and committ to a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

The TROIKA wants to set records straight as part of their support to IGAD’s revitalization efforts.

The revitalization of South Sudan peace process, which aims to restore a peace agreement that collapsed last year, is facing major challenges but according to UK Representative for Sudan and South Sudan, Christ Trott, the major challenge that needs to be tackled is lack of political will to resolve the conflict.

Dear South Sudanese partners, thanks you so much for your commitment that you put much effort in an attempting to get the solution for this conflict that horrify the nation. Inclusive dialogue is a way to go and everyone present his/her view. I don’t believe isolation will work in any way but it may even delay the process. I mentioned before that if you do not bring Dr. Machar to the table then Your attempt will not succeed in anyway however when you realize that there is a need for him to be there and confirm his commitment by his own word then will there be a meaningful dialogue and helpful for you as well as him.
