March 19, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —— The national day of prayer called by the president of the republic of South sudan under the theme “Repentance and Forgiveness” cannot bring lasting peace, healing and reconciliation. God cannot be deceived  by the acts of human wisdom, power, cleverness and desire to approach him with untruthful repentance.

Bishop Isaiah Majok Dau persuasively signaled leaders of South Sudan that “humility is giving space to others in our hearts” but the bishop doesn’t notice that they blocked their ears not listen any more, some fallen slept and some made themselves busy with social media to bypass message; unrepented sins will negatively affect positive direction of peace, forgiveness and reconciliation. They slept because the preacher didn’t blame Dr. Machar, they interested on blaming attitudes than accepting the collective mistakes and find ways to fixed.

The scripture is so clear that when leaders sins, the nation suffered. God’s word never fail as its say “Just as shepherds watch over their sheep, you must watch over everyone God has placed in your care. Do it willingly in order to please God, and not simply because you think you must. Let it be something you want to do, instead of something you do merely to make money.  Don’t be bossy to those people who are in your care, but set an example for them” (CEV 1 Peter 5:2-3).

Leaders that falls into moral failures, disqualify themselves from leadership effectiveness into devastating crisis. Above scripture can be related to our situation as South Sudanese in other ways. God has chosen Kiir not to supervise killing, hatred, tribalism, displacement, kidnapping and corruption but he was chosen to care for the flocks with humbleness and humility. Leaders who chosen the path of God’s guidance can have a wisdom to lead with great example, eager to serve humbly without concerns of what they can get and delivery services equally to everyone without favoritism.

South Sudanese suffered enough under Kiir bad leadership and he doesn’t want to acknowledge the mistakes and crimes his government committed against innocent citizen, hate speech, tribalism attitudes and divisive policy established by government is a threat to peace and stability of the country.

The national day of prayer was organized to hide crimes committed under untruthful “repentance and forgiveness” and they assume God is  blindfold not to understand the cry of the people of South Sudan. We trust God’s word when it’s say “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!”…… “You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them” (Jeremiah 23:1-4).

In the day of national prayer no one touch the root causes of the political crisis landed our country into civil war. They were praising God when you heard the gunshot, cry of innocent children and women in the bushes of Sudan Sudan, knowing that God cannot compromise evils but they did it purposely to blame God for their distorted beliefs of how to work honestly for genuine peace.

God love justice and he will not tolerate practice  of injustice against our neighbors; “Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice, who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing and does not give him his wages.” (Jeremiah 22:13).

We understand that the word “woe” is clearly to be a judgment message, just as its mentioned in the Book of Revelation so God says that the one who builds his house by unrighteousness by making “his neighbor serve him for nothing and does not give him his wages” will receive God’s judgment someday unless they repent (Heb 9:27).

I don’t understand if the government of South sudan read the same Bible I’m reading, God will not listen to us when we spread hatred against our neighbors, brothers and sisters but he listen to us when we stop evil conspiracy, killings and turn to him with heart of love and forgiveness.

Leaders are chosen to work for peace, justice and prosperity of the nation and distribute service equally without discrimination. God hates corruption, injustice and condemned corrupted leaders by saying that “You have plowed iniquity; you have reaped injustice; you have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your own way and in the multitude of your warriors” (Hosea 10:13).

I truly believe that the leadership of South sudan organised that prayer not to  repent for their evil deeds but they use the prayer to mislead the international community that they are working for peace while while they’re not.  The scripture is so clear  that they are trusting in themselves, their own abilities and have turned away from God. Leaders that turns their back on God will result in God turning his back on them and they will reap what they have sown and it is because of the iniquity of them justice will be served.

The Bible warns believers not to associate with wicked leaders and I agreed with the church leaders that opposed the national day of prayer because we can not play politics with God as assumed by Kiir government.  In the book of  David asked, “Can wicked rulers be allied with you, those who frame injustice by statute?” (Psalm 94:20). This is a serious question, can wicked leaders be allied with God, definitely the answer is big no because those who are practice the injustice laws will never be condoned by God. God is against injustice and we the believers must follow God’s laws and be the ambassadors of peace and justice.

Peace will not happen if leaders of South sudan continue to disassociate Dr. Riek Machar from any process of political dialogue. In order for South sudan to have genuine peace, there must be inclusive political dialogue that includes various parties in conflict, civil society, religious leaders and they will work collectively to address the root causes of the political crisis that create environment of trust and political will to fix the broken system. Any attempt by the government to excludes all parties in conflict will prolong the suffering of innocent people of South Sudan.
