08, March 2017(Nyamilepedia) — Another high ranking government commander has been killed in latest fighting with rebel forces loyal to former Vice President Riek Machar as more rebel groups join South Sudan fighting.

Colonel Wuor Mayen who is commander that was leading government forces in Imatong state of Eastern Equatoria was gunned down in Hiyala county during fierce battles with rebels in latest fighting this week.

Mayen has been accused of leading government forces that have caused havoc in the area by raping and looting civilians in the region.

Rebel lead by SPLA-IO Tufeng division commander Maj. Gen Patrick Ohiti killed the government commander after overrunning his base and took the dead commanders body hostage.

Government forces are said to be mobilising force to recover the dead commanders body.
