21, February 2017 (Nyamilepedia) — The current First Vice President Taban Deng Gai is said to have given a chilling advise to his colleagues in Salva Kiir’s Transitional government, warning them to be “prepared” for anything as several Top government and military officials have recently resigned from the government throwing what is left of the peace process into disarray.

Taban is said to have secretly urged those who think they can leave to find their own ways out of the country, however saying he cannot guarantee their safety, this comes after claims of disappearance of a senior govt Minister that has gone missing.

The group loyal to Taban Deng Gai are said to be frustrated with current progress in the so called peace process and decided to call an urgent meeting to discuss recent resignations and defections by senior government officials.

The group discussed how the current defections could affect their alliance with the government of President Salva Kiir after a Senior General and Minister allied to Taban Deng Gai resigned from Salva Kiir’s government citing tribalism and lack of seriousness and commitment from President Kiir to implement the peace agreement.

An insider and senior opposition leader from Tabans group who attended the meeting at Crown Hotel said the First Vice president told them blatantly to “prepare” themselves for any eventuallities and leave if they can, warning them that things were not looking optimistic and the security situation and economic crisis was deteriorating further.

“He .. (First Vice President) told us blatantly in the meeting for us to be prepared for any eventuallities, he said those who want to leave is up to them should leave, but we should not be afraid” said Chol Abraham member of Taban Dengs group who attended at Crown Hotel

This comes after members who had joined the government together with Taban Deng Gai had become concerned with recent developments which included government blocking peace monitors from visiting areas affected by war, frequent ceasefire violations, atrocities and also failing by the government to implement protocols related to security and the economy reforms.

“The agreement is not being implemented as we expected, there are deliberate delays, there are some serious violations, also recent threats directed towards my officials is unacceptable” Taban Deng allegedly told the meeting according to the senior official who attended at Crown Hotel in Juba.

Members of Tabans groups are said to have asked Taban Deng Gai to guarantee their safety as rumour have surfaced that security agencies loyal to Silva Kiir were monitorig their movementa and also hunting down on opposition members suspected of wanting to defect, this comes after reports that Gen. Lado Gore who is current the minister of Housing and Land has disappeared with some reports indicating he might have defected while others say he might have been targeted by government security or militia for being a critic of Salva and the Dinka/ Jieng Council of Elders.

Lado Gore is said to have disappeared from Juba since early this week and his whereabouts not known until the writing of this reports. Communications by Nyamilepedia to Taban Deng’s group in juba and to government officials about the disappearance claim has not been responded to.

There has been reports from Juba since last month that several senior opposition officials who had joined the government as part of Taban Deng Gai have been concerned about their safety and are looking to ways to leave the country but some of their passports have been collected by the National Security.

South Sudan government has been hit with several resignations and defections by senior government officials which includes senior Ministers and top Army generals for the last two weeks.
