Nov 3, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— Kenyan government has on November 2nd deported and handed over Machar’s Press Secretary, James Gatdet Dak, to South Sudan authorities in the capital, Juba.
Unlike regular deportations, Kenya has submitted a top member of South Sudan rebels to the opponents, the South Sudan government.
Dak is now being held at the National Security Headquarters in Juba and his fates lies in the hands of President Salva Kiir and his top authorities.

Kenya has been a home to nearly half a million South Sudanese who are residing in Kenya as refugees or students, attending schools.
Speaking to members of Dak’s family in Nairobi, they said it is unfortunate that Kenya has betrayed their son, who believes that Kenya was his second home, and a place he would run to for refuge.
“He is deported, he is now at the National Security in Juba. It is very unfortunate that the Kenyan government did this” Said Gatdet’s brother.
Gatdet was implicated because he supports the decision of the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon, who relieved a Kenyan son, Lt. Gen. Johnson Mogoa Kimani Ondieki, from UNMSS commands.
The decision was made after an investigation and immerse pressure from the United States to see accountability over the UNMISS’ failure to intervene in Terrain Hotel incident, where Americans were targeted, and other numerous violations of human rights including rapes of over 300 women who seek UN protection in the capital.
Gatdet was confident that the decision will help South Sudan rebuild its social fabrics, peace and reconciliation; however, the Kenyan Government believes such statement has negatively implicated Kenya.
“We commend the action taken by the United Nations Secretary General, which we believe will contribute to confidence building among the vulnerable populations in South Sudan.” Gatdet wrote on his Facebook page.
Kenya has not only deported Gatdet but also decided to withdraw their troops from South Sudan and disengage from South Sudan Peace process.
Critics believe that these decisions will put Kenyans’ lives in South Sudan, specially in rebel held areas, at greater risk.
While many South Sudanese politicians and intellectuals believe that Kenya is overreacting in this case, some claim that the government of Kenya has been paid by Salva Kiir government to silent armed opposition on its territory.
Machar has lost his military spokesman to Juba in the past and Juba has employed him as its military spokesman.
With Gatdet in detention in Juba, SPLM/SPLA-IO will have to reorganize to fill Gatdet’s position and other oppositions abandoned by some senior members of the opposition.
In other reports, supporters of SPLM/A in Opposition are calling on their supporters not to harm Kenyans in areas under their control over unconstitutional deportation of their spokesman.
