Monday, May 23, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— Mr Vigilio Bernard Ikuru Ideng, the Commissioner of Torit County, was this morning lying to Eye Radio from his Office in Torit on the whereabouts of the 10 people he claims to be ‘mining experts’.

The 10 men, some of whom are confirmed to be police officers and security agents, were apprehended on suspicion that they are working with the government of South Sudan to locate and map SPLA-IO positions in Eastern Equatoria State (EES) under the cover of the ‘Lucky Friends Company Limited’.

The Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA-IO) in Eastern Equatoria State (EES) would like to inform the people of South Sudan, the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) and indeed the international community that the Commissioner of Torit County knows where the said men are being held under good and responsible conditions.

The Manager of the said company has been in contact with the SPLA-IO forces in Eastern Equatoria State (EES) and he is cooperating with the ongoing investigation on the matter.

Once the investigation is completed, these government agents will definitely be released and handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC), as required by the August 2015 Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (ARCISS).
