Emmanuel Jieng Parish: Garang’s Widow, Mama Rebecca, Attacked In Juba
Nov 29, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — The returning South Sudanese politicians, Mama Rebecca, the Widow of late Dr. John Garang, and Dr. Majaak D’Agot, who returned yesterday from a “self-imposed” exile were attacked this morning in the capital, Juba.
According to reports from members of Emmanuel Jieng Parish Church, an Episcopal Church in Juba, some women among the Congregation, took the law of Moses and initiated a physical attacks on identified former detainees who were sent to exile one and half year ago “due to fear of their safety” as the president believed.
The group of women attacked Rebecca Nyandeng, “the mother of nation”, and accused her of betraying and exposing the government to the outside world.
The congregation of the Emmanuel [God with Us] Jieng Parish believe that Rebecca Nyandeng, who declared her interest for presidency before the conflict in 2013, is an agent of Dr. Riek Machar, the former Vice President and First Vice President designate.
To this congregation, Nyandeng must not attend their church because she has betrayed the country.
Upon their arrival in Juba, the former detainees whom some did not appear in churches this morning, converged for a prayer on Dr. Garang’s memorial ground.
Mama Rebecca, who burst in tears prayed for forgiveness, healing and reconciliation of the country.
According to Dr. Majaak, who tweeted yesterday while heading to Juba, the detainees have had enough of forced exile. This time, they are ready to put up with the situation in the country in the interest of peace
“Heading to Juba this morning for the implementation of ARCISS; effectively ending my one and a half years of forced exile by the regime.” Majak Agoot stated.
With exception of Mr. Pagan Amum, the former SPLM Secretary general, all the former detainees have returned to Juba.
Mr. Pagan, who avoids Juba for his own safety, was last seen shoving snows in Denver, Colorado, in the United State of America.
